Europe’s largest socio-educational project for children and young people, Mirno more – Peace Fleet celebrates a significant anniversary this year – 30 years of its existence. Marina Kaštela has been the host of this event for 11 years, and today ships will once again sail into our Marina, where they will be warmly welcomed by the organisers and hosts, including Captain Joško Berket on behalf of Marina Kaštela BavAdria Yachting.
The rich programme for the next two days includes sports events, educational workshops such as “Peace Talk”, and numerous fun activities. A festive concert called the “Peace Festival” will be held in front of the Spinnaker restaurant, as the highlight of the celebration of peace and community.
Since the very beginning, the Mirno more – Peace Fleet project, organised by the Austrian non-profit association Mirno more, has been focused on working with children from socially vulnerable groups. In today’s conflict-filled world, their messages of peace and unity resonate more powerfully than ever.
This year, participants aboard the vessels of our charter agency, BavAdria, include children from the Maestral Split home, the Mir – Rudina centre, the Down Syndrome 21 association, as well as children from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
With more than 800 participants, 200 volunteers, and 110 ships, Mirno more – Peace Fleet aims to teach children about the importance of tolerance, mutual understanding, and acceptance of diversity through sailing and joint activities.
Mirno more – Peace Fleet continues its mission this year, spreading the universal values of peace and tolerance at a time when they are needed more than ever.
