WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT AT THE MARINA’S BOAT WASHING STATION
Our company is committed to the principles of environment protection and in that sense we take utmost care not to pollute the sea. That commitment goes hand in hand with our aim to help develop the community through our activities. Wastewater from washing and cleaning of boats is treated with specially designed wastewater treatment plant before the water is released into the natural reservoir.
Our wastewater treatment plant can treat wastewater in accordance with the Ordinance on limit values of hazardous and other substances in wastewater (official gazette of the Republic of Croatia “Narodne novine” NN No. 94/08, 107/95 and 150/05). We use the method of electrocoagulation (EC) for water treatment, was well as flocculation and disinfection. The type of our wastewater treatment plant is VITA MAR 2011. This type is specially designed for wastewater treatment at boat washing stations at marinas and shipyards where there are high concentrations of heavy metals from protective coating paints. The capacity of the wastewater treatment plant is 400 l/h, which is more than enough for marinas with about 500 berths.
ENVIRONMENT
MEASURING OF THE INTENSITY (STRENGTH) OF IONIZING RADIATION (RADIOACTIVITY) AT “MARINE KAŠTELA” CONDUCTED BY “RUĐER BOŠKOVIĆ” INSTITUTE
Marine Kaštela d.o.o. has created an Environmental impact assessment study – construction of maritime and inland structures in Giričić – Kaštel Gomilica (UP/I 351-03/04-02/0058, File No.: 531-05/4-AG-04-11 from 19 October 2004)
The aim of the planned project is to permanently solve the issue of the slag dump from the INA VINIL plant, through continued monitoring of the state of the environment and applying environment protection measures.
The elements of the plant and control cabinet:
The wastewater treatment plant is installed close to the boat cleaning area. All water after use goes through the plant before it is released into the natural reservoir.
We wish to inform you that, as part of the continued monitoring process, which is in accordance with the above mentioned study, “Ruđer Bošković” Institute has measured the intensity of ionising radiation at the location of Šetalište Kralja Tomislava bb, Kaštel Gomilica.
The institute conducted the above mentioned operation on 4 December 2007. After that Marina Kaštela received a certificate stating that the levels of radioactivity at all 17 measuring points are within limits of what is natural, that is to say, that the levels of ionising radiation correspond to the levels of natural ionising radiation at the location in question.
Sincerely yours,
Marina Kaštela d.o.o.
